Weckenmann receives Innovation Award
The MBM® mobile battery mould enables the production of precast concrete in the immediate vicinity of construction sites.
This allows the production of high-quality precast concrete products on site as required and, irrespective of whether a construction site is located in the city or in a remote area, the project becomes more cost effective and environmentally friendly, because the expensive transport of individual precast parts becomes unnecessary.
“With the Innovation Prize of Baden-Württemberg, we reward pioneering ideas that medium-sized companies in Baden-Württemberg implement every year and bring to market. We want to draw attention to the extraordinary ideas of our economy both locally and outside the region. In addition, the prize should be an incentive to SMEs to constantly re-invent themselves and so enhance their competitiveness,” said Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut at the presentation of the Innovation Prize in Stuttgart on 30 November 2016.
This regional Innovation Prize of EUR 50,000, the “Dr. Rudolf Eberle Prize” has been awarded for the 32nd time. With this prize, medium-sized companies are awarded for extraordinary developments and the application of new technologies. Winners this year are Vincent Systems GmbH from Karlsruhe, Pinion GmbH from Denkendorf and Weckenmann Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG from Dormettingen. In addition, Operational Analytics GmbH (OPAL) from Mannheim received the special MBG medium-sized holding company prize for innovation by young companies of EUR 7,500. Six other companies received a commendation for their contributions.
Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut congratulated all the prize winners. “The high quality among the applications received from different industries is a testament to the innovative capacity of small and medium-sized companies in Baden-Württemberg. All award winners contribute with their outstanding ideas to the fact that Baden-Württemberg is and remains Germany's leading innovation and economic region,” said the Minister.
